50's Jeans 13.5oz / One-Wash

The TCB 50’s Jeans are a faithful reproduction of a classic 1950s vintage silhouette, carefully studied and recreated from an original pair in the TCB archive. Every detail from the fit to the stitch construction and yarn selection has been developed to reflect the character of true mid century denim.

Made from 13.5oz Zimbabwe cotton denim, the fabric is designed to replicate the irregular texture of vintage jeans. The uneven yarn thickness and subtle tension variations come from a traditional style loom process rather than modern computer controlled weaving, giving the fabric a natural, organic character that evolves beautifully over time.

Construction details are carefully considered throughout. The back pockets use reinforced hidden rivets for durability, while the paper patch is hand applied. With wear, the patch naturally frays and tears, gradually revealing the darker indigo beneath, adding character unique to each pair.

Sewing construction has been executed with exceptional attention to vintage accuracy. Multiple thread colors and yarn thicknesses are used throughout the garment, with stitch widths adjusted depending on location to mirror original mid century manufacturing methods. These settings are achieved using vintage-style sewing machines in Kojima, Japan.

Even interior components such as the pocket bags are intentionally sewn with a slightly irregular, vintage style finish, while maintaining long term durability. These subtle construction choices create a pair of jeans that becomes more unique with every wear.
